Day One (January 14, 1862) of THE WINTER WAR Campaign Over

The scoreboard has been posted for Day 1 of the campaign (see the scoreboard page). The Federals take an early lead, having made forays across the South Branch of the Potomac.

Day 1 had contact at Lowell’s Cross Roads, Three Churches, and Romney. Only Romney resulted in an engagement, with a brief cavalry skirmish taking place on the Northwest Turnpike at Kern (Romney). The Federals were victorious and the Confederates withdrew towards Frenchburg.   At Lowell’s Cross Roads and Three Churches, the Federals were the ones who withdrew before any engagement took place.

The simulation now enters the 1st night of the simulation, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.  Players will be receiving their evening reports shortly, which will outline the locations and condition of their forces. After receiving the evening reports, players may issue order for Day 2 of the campaign.
