Command Simulation: Town Objectives

Victory in the B & O WINTER Command simulation is determined by occupation of objectives.  So far, the players have not made extensive attempts to occupy them. 6 towns listed as objectives and awarding points to the occupying force have been unoccupied from the beginning of the simulation.

Several towns that are objectives have been occupied and then abandoned as units moved onward. Simply detaching and leaving a single company to garrison the town would register points and also serve as an observation post if the enemy occupied the town.  Some towns have been occupied without the enemy being aware of their occupation status.

The objective towns go hand in hand with the importance of roads and railroads. Many of the objectives are on the main road network. The first week of the simulation has led to action at the town of Bath on Day 7 (upcoming). It is one of the objectives in the simulation and was Jackson's choice for the start of his Romney campaign. But.... it is an isolated objective surrounded by bad roads. We are only at the start of the campaign. It remains to be seen what the players have up their sleeves....
