Opening Volley

A company of Federal skirmishers armed with Belgian Muskets came back with haste after losing their first casualty of the campaign in a skirmish with a company of Ashby's cavalry. The skirmish reserve came up and opened up with a volley, sending the horsemen quickly to the rear as well.  The lead elements of the two forces will start the simulation in close proximity, on opposite sides of a small farm. Middle Fork of Sleepy Creek will be to their west and a wooded ridge to their east.
