Reprobate Federal Officers

In Day 7 of the campaign, several depots were destroyed and burned, including Confederate commissary supplies at Higginsville, which were burned by forces under Colonel Samuel H. Dunning. Dunning has also burned Confederate wagons and supplies at Lowell's Cross Roads earlier in the campaign.  Dunning's command is the only Federal unit to damage Confederate supplies and property during the simulation.

Simulation meets History: Historically, Colonel Dunning burned Frenchburg on his way back from engaging Confederate militia at Hanging Rocks (Blues Gap). He may be one of the officers to whom Jackson referred in his report on the campaign (excerpt below).

As a side note on the report, notice mention of Moorefield, where there was a small skirmish on February 1862. I am at work on a follow-up campaign that is likely to include Hardy County, with Moorefield becoming an objective.
