Next Map

My map making has slowed down lately. I will be doing a 4th and final map for another command simulation in which some of the remaining Command Simulation community is involved, then I intend to start Higginsville, just west of Slanesville. Slanesville is an objective to in THE WINTER WAR simulation.


Confederates approaching from Bloomery Gap will certainly have the opportunity to take and occupy Slanesville early in the simulation. Higginsville is a one likely route of approach by Federals, particularly if they advance from the direction of the rail line at Green Spring Depot.

Markwood Church

Markwood Church, the locality between Burlington and Ridgeville, is done and posted. It is a little anachronistic, because the actual church wasn't built until about five years after the war. The map does include a representation of Old Stone House, an inn that was / is on the Northwest Turnpike.

Slight Delay...

I started working on Markwood Church, but got involved in other things.  Our current command simulation series (in which I am a player and not hosting the simulation) is nearing its end, but will go into a third battle in a campaign series. I am helping with some of the preparations for that and have put THE WINTER WAR to the side for a little while.
