Simulation meets History: Historically, Colonel Dunning burned Frenchburg on his way back from engaging Confederate militia at Hanging Rocks (Blues Gap). He may be one of the officers to whom Jackson referred in his report on the campaign (excerpt below).
As a side note on the report, notice mention of Moorefield, where there was a small skirmish on February 1862. I am at work on a follow-up campaign that is likely to include Hardy County, with Moorefield becoming an objective.
