Ashby Takes Springfield: Day 7 - Morning

In a quick and lopsided engagement, Ashby's cavalry fought Capt. John Edwards' Co "A," 62nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry in Springfield. Capt. Edwards' men were forced to flee towards Short Gap and Ashby has taken the town, a campaign objective, during the morning of Day 7 of the campaign.
