Battle! Romney, D2 - 15:30 p.m. - Still Fighting

At 3:00 p.m. the Confederates launched an assault with three brigades (Burks, Taliaferro, and Garnett) against one Federal brigade (Tyler) supported by two six-gun batteries. Burks and Taliaferro advanced from Hook and across Sulphur Spring Run when they saw Garnett appear out of the woods to the east. Garnett moved to the Mileson farm and attempted to dress on Taliaferro's left. Unfortunately, Taliaferro's Brigade was taking heavy canister fire and was driven back.

The Federal line is in a salient position. The center and apex of the line beat back the Confederate attack, but the flanks are collapsing, with one of Tyler's Ohio regiments being forced back on the left, exposing a section of artillery (now retreating) and two guns on the right being forced to retreat or routing. 

Confederate batteries advanced towards Sulphur Spring Run, but did not advance far enough to put themselves in canister range of enemy guns or fire canister on the enemy line.

The fighting continues and end of turn reports are just about to go out to the players.
